Our morning will begin in a tropical area surrounded by nature. Breakfast will be ready for us to enjoy before we continue our journey towards Aguas Calientes (also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo). Reaching this town will take approximately 7 hours, passing through the well-known Hydroelectric rest stop. Along the way, we will make several stops to appreciate the stunning landscape, featuring breathtaking waterfalls that originate from the glaciers. We will also get a glimpse of the terraces of Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu. By the afternoon, we will arrive at Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the night in a hostel at the foot of the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.
(8:00 am) After breakfast, we take the bus to the Inca city of Machu Picchu. For approximately 2 hours, we will visit the most important sites with our guide. Afterward, you will have the opportunity to explore this mysterious city at your own pace. If you still have energy, you may also choose to climb Huayna Picchu (2720m/8923ft). It takes about 45 minutes to reach the summit. This hike is additional and optional, and you may need to leave the guided tour of Machu Picchu to secure a permit for the climb. We then take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the night. You will meet your guide in Aguas Calientes, and there is an optional evening visit to the town’s hot springs (admission fee: $4 USD).
