Entries are limited each day based on the number of visitors allowed into the Inca citadel, so tickets can sell out weeks or even months in advance, especially in high season (May to September).

If you want to visit the attractions of the upper zone of Machu Picchu, such as the Guardhouse or Huayna Picchu, we recommend booking months in advance: availability is more limited and sells out very quickly. On the other hand, if you are short on time and want to visit Machu Picchu, you can book entry through the classic route with as little as 3 days' notice, subject to availability.
Each day the Ministry of Culture offers 4,500 entries in regular season and 5,600 in high season. You can book them through the Ministry of Culture website or by contacting our sales agent, who will help you secure your entrance to Machu Picchu.
Heads up: to buy in person you will have to queue from 6:00 a.m. This option depends on the number of visitors: if tickets sell out, you won't be able to get yours.

Since 2024, entry to Machu Picchu has been organized into 3 circuits with 10 routes in total, each designed for a different type of experience. Circuit 1 or Panoramic covers the upper zone of the citadel, ideal for the classic panoramic view from the Guardhouse, although it does not always include entry to the urban sector. Circuit 2 or Classic passes through the middle zone, including the agricultural terraces and the urban sector, making it the most complete route for exploring Inca architecture. Circuit 3 or Royalty covers the lower zone of the citadel and is the gateway to the Huayna Picchu and Huchuy Picchu mountains for those seeking a more active experience.
Once inside, you cannot switch circuits or turn back, so it is important to choose the right route according to your available time and physical condition.
