Our Rainbow Mountain tour offers 4 departure times, so you can choose the one that best fits your plans: 2:50 am, 4:00 am, 6:00 am, or 8:00 am. The most common departure time is 4:00 am; however, if you prefer the 8:00 am option, your pick-up point will be Plaza Regocijo, a small square located just a few meters above Cusco's main square.
To start, our tour guide, along with our vehicle, will pick you up near your hotel, located in the historic center of the imperial city, heading toward the southern side of Cusco. Our journey will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, during which we'll enjoy beautiful Andean landscapes, with rural areas and natural surroundings gradually setting the mood for our visitors. After this leg of the trip, we'll arrive in Cusipata, where you'll be served a delicious breakfast to recharge before continuing the adventure.
After breakfast, we'll continue along a dirt road as the scenery becomes increasingly wild and mountainous, until we reach the private property of Kayrahuire Alto (ATV Station), located at an altitude of 4,450 m.a.s.l. At this point, our guide will provide all the necessary instructions on handling and operating the ATVs, allowing you to practice in a designated area before starting the official route. (Please note that we have an exclusive, private route for the use of our vehicles.)
Once ready, we'll begin the ATV ride, which will last approximately 50 minutes to 1 hour (round trip, always driving with caution, NO RACING). Along this route, we'll take in truly spectacular scenery, including views of the Ausangate snow-capped peak, as well as the chance to encounter local residents dressed in their traditional Andean attire.
We'll then arrive just minutes from the renowned Rainbow Mountain. At this point, we'll leave the ATVs behind and continue on foot for 3 to 5 minutes to finally reach this natural attraction. Once there, you'll have approximately 40 minutes of free time to explore, take photos, and enjoy the views of this uniquely colorful landscape.
Afterward, we'll descend again by ATV for 30 minutes to the vehicle parking area, where our transport will be waiting to take us back to Cusipata, where a buffet lunch will be served.
Finally, we'll head back to the city of Cusco, on a journey of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, wrapping up our tour to one of Peru's most visited destinations.
