Introduction
The 3-day Inti Raymi tour is an ideal way to experience one of Cusco's most important traditions: the grand Festival of the Sun. This celebration, held every June 24th, brings together more than 700 participants including actors, dancers, and musicians who re-enact a ritual of gratitude to the Sun god for the crops and harvests received during the past year, as well as a prayer for abundance and prosperity in the new cycle.
Before enjoying the main performance, you will have the opportunity to visit some of the most important temples and archaeological sites surrounding the city of Cusco. The visit begins at the Temple of Qoricancha, a place full of mystery and spiritual significance, from which the Inti Raymi celebration originates.
Afterward, we will visit the Inca ruins of Sacsayhuamán, a fortress of great historical importance and one of the best viewpoints over the imperial city. The tour continues to Qenqo, Pucapucara, and Tambomachay.
Throughout the 3-day Inti Raymi tour, our tour guide will provide detailed information about the history and highlights of each site you visit, along with valuable tips to help you make the most of the Inti Raymi experience.
